I reviewed this through Audiobook Boom in exchange for a fair review. The reader; J. Scott Bennett, does a decent job. I didn't find him distracting, but I wasn't crazy about his voices for women.Author isn't my cuppaJamie and LukeLuke is lonely but gun shy with women after being jilted at the alter. He just wants a guaranteed wife. so Marcus (Mr. matchmaker from the first 3 books in the series), writes an ad for him for a mail order bride. Jamie longs to leave town but has no options, until she [...]

I listened to the audio version of Books 4-6, narrated by J. Scott Bennett. I've posted reviews up on Audible and on , but I thought I'd write a more detailed review here for the author, herself. I am in no way trying to discourage her from writing, I found the stories pleasant enough, and as said in the other reviews, it depends on what a reader is looking for in reading the book. I have an interest in history and grew up reading Louis L'Amour and Max Brand, watching Bonanza, etc. Now I'm not s [...]

3.5 starsA light, fun, humorous, enjoyable and entertaining story. This is the second book from the Mail Order Brides Montana series that I have listened to and I while I was not disappointed in this book, I did like book 3 a little more. Even though this is part of a series you don't have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. Even though these are shorter books they are not lacking in any way. Some shorter books leave you feeling like something is missing either in storyline or the [...]

This novel deals with the cousin of the Samuels' brothersd isn't quite as riveting as the stories about the three of them. Perhaps I wasn't as enamored of the lady who answered Luke's ad for a wifee seemed a little wild to mebut I'm a little too straitlaced for some of these vixens. ;)Needless to say, the story does take off on it's own and has all the elements fitting a mail-order bride and her facing of the unknown. The family ranch where Luke works welcomes Jamie and the dance begins. She is [...]

I liked this book. It was sweet and sexy, and it was refreshing to see a female character who is comfortable with who she is without conforming to society's expectations of her. The story perfectly sets up more books in the series. Though this is a fourth book in the series, I had not read any of the previous books in the series prior to reading this one. I didn't feel like I was missing out, but would guess that the stories center around the other characters who got a mail order bride, and it w [...]

Jamie, the main character of Mail Order Bride - Western Destiny, has a mind of her own. She isn't the typical heroine of these types of novels. After reading 2 other books in this series, I was looking forward to more. Linda Bridey is a great writer. The story was funny and kept me wanting more. I enjoyed getting to know Jamie and Luke. Even though they have 2 completely different personalities, I think they make a great couple. Again, J. Scott Bennett did a wonderful performance. His voice is p [...]

The Montana Mail Order Brides books are enjoyable stories that are each complete without the feeling of being rushed through and entwine the characters into the other books within the series. As most romance books each couple has their ups and downs, inner battles, heartaches, happy times and end in a happy ending. It combines different cultures and the hardships and struggles that goes along with it. I found this to be a great mix in the story and was well done. Once I finish one book I quickly [...]

A Sweet Story Luke, the male lead, is a shy and quiet kind of guy.Jamie, the female lead, is a bit more forward. It seems as though it is love at first sight and a case of "opposites attract" when they meet, at least for Luke He might not have realized it at first, but that is what happened to him.Overall, this book was a quick read enjoyable read.J. Scott Bennett did well with the narration.Note:"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbi [...]

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”Westward Destiny is book 4 in the series. We re-visit the Samuels' family. This one features their cousin Luke. Jamie, the mail order bride that answers his advertisement is not like most girls that answers ads. She is strong willed, flirty and adventurous. She has hidden emotions that come out showing a vulnerable side too. Will love conquer all? The narration wa [...]

I have fallen in love with this series. Began with Dean and Tessa and now with this book comes their cousin Luke. He is so different than the brothers but has his own personality. I did not care for Jamie throughout the book as I felt she was too wild for poor Luke. They eventually matched up well and the story had a good finish. Keep going if you have started the series. Very good stories.

    • Joyce Anderson says:

Luke's storyline contributes to human emotions, prejudices and fears. It isFilled with love , suspense, danger and fortunately happy endings. It is such a pleasure to find an author who can portray life without explicit sex scenes. Yes, there may be times when typos are present and there is the need for a proofreader but the players in this novel and the writer 's twist and turns keeps the reader anxiously turning the pages.

Love By MailI love reading about mail-order brides during the 1800s. The women that made the decision to become mail-order brides had to be courageous, especially when they knew little to nothing about their prospective husbands. I really enjoyed reading about the Samuels. I look forward to reading more of your work.

I am really enjoying the Montana Mail Order Bride series by Linda Bridey. It is extremely difficult to find a "clean" western mail order bride book that is not Christian. However, Ms Bridey does this with ease. Her stories are enjoyable and not predictable. She is on my must read list.

    • Sandy says:

This book was just ok. I was looking to continue the story line but was a little disappointed in this book. I realize there are 13 books in this series but not going to continue with them after this one.

    • Donna says:

      Good book.

    • Debbie Nutt says:

Jamie and Luke and the picture of opposites attract. This is a sweet story and the twists and turns will keep you guessing.
