      Believable, well researched alternate historyThis book is written mostly as a narrative alternate history of events in the American Civil War during the summer of 1862. There is some dialogue and expression of opinions and feelings by some of the characters. The narrative is heavy with detailed descriptions of troop movements and battles just as if it were a history of actual events. The strongest writing is found in those sections.
