~4.5~This is one of the best L.A. Witt books I've read in a long time. I loved the two MCs and the chemistry between them. What begins as a one-night stand turns into something more. Even when Sean and Paul figure out that Paul is Sean's father's commanding officer, they can't stay away from each other. Paul craves Sean more than he craves nicotine. And Sean is tired of the Navy taking over his life. There is no manufactured drama, no fake angst. The men are amazing together, yet the relationshi [...]

May/December romance between two sexy men? Yep!We've got Paul:A career Navy man of 24 years. An ex-pilot, he wants to command his own aircraft carrier and make Admiral before retirement. We've got Sean:A twenty-something college student still living at home, he drives a cab to help make ends meet. The men meet when Sean picks Paul up in his cab. The sexual attraction is instantaneous and we get some backseat sex and some bent-over-the-trunk-of-the-car sex. Oh, yes indeed! The sex continues over the [...]

➦I'm super duper behind on my reviews so I'm gonna make it short. L.A. Witt is a new to me author and I have to admit I enjoyed the writing a lot. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more of her stuff in the future :)➦This novel is about Sean, a young college student who who lives with his father and is a dependent of the Navy. He has been moving wherever his father gets stationed and drives a cab at night for extra income. ➦One night Sean picks up a very attractive stranger who wishes t [...]

*3.5 stars* L.A. Witt is probably my most read author, but her books are always hit or miss for me, tending to average around 3-stars. However, I've loved her stuff in the past, so I always take a chance with her, and in this case, it payed off. Just Drive is a hot romance with a military man and a big age-gap between the two MCs. Both of these things were huge factors in my rating. I LOVE a May-December romance, especially in M/M, and it really worked for me here. While military romances aren't [...]

If there is one thing I can pretty much count on, it's that when LA Witt puts out a military themed novel, I'll probably like it. Even though they often follow a similar formula, she just does them so well!Just Drive is the first book in her new Anchor Point series, and I really enjoyed it. I liked both MC's, their chemistry is scorching and so is the sex. And I loved the age-gap, aspect and that it was the younger guy doing the topping!Sean Wright is young. We never find out his exact age, but [...]

*4.5 stars*If I had to make a list of things that make me happy, LA's words would most certainly make the cut. I feel like she has this weird sixth sense and knows when I need her book hugs. After days of deep book conversations about another book that did not make me happy, this was the soothing balm my book soul needed. It was smoking hot.It was juicy and sweet. It wasJUST what I needed. It made me smile and glow. Thank you LA for somehow always knowing what I need and coming to my literary res [...]

What can I say that I haven't said in my many status updates?I frigging LOVED this book!!I have a soft spot for age gap stories and this hit it perfectly. At about 24 years of age Sean Wright is still stuck with his US Navy dad currently stationed in Anchor Point. The Navy pays for his tuition and health insurance, so Sean puts up with moving around with his dad, moving from school to school and leaving (boy)friends behind. He's now in college, earning some money on the side as a private cab driv [...]

4.25 starsThis was so incredibly romantic. I loved these guys.Sean is driving his taxi when he picks up a heartbroken older guy. Paul has just broken up with his boyfriend and tells his driver to ‘just drive’.And although Paul is sad his relationship is over, there is an instant connection with Sean. And after an unexpected walk on the pier, they end up parked somewhere for an incredibly hot encounter.Paul tells himself not to contact the guy who blew his mind with one simple hookup, and is [...]

4.5 stars! L.A Witt where have you been all my life?! Lol! This was so good, love it. It had everything I love in a story, two amazing guys, age gap, military and a forbidden love. Sean is a part time driver/student, on a drive he meets Paul, whom has just broken up with his ex and ends on the back of Sean's car. They start talking and next thing you know know they're making out hot and heavy. They start hooking up with no strings but of course emotions get in the way. Add to that the fact that [...]

As a Navy brat born and raised, I was almost giddy when this book mentioned places like San Diego (my birthplace) and Norfolk (we were stationed there twice). This book was going to be amazing and I. Could. Not. Wait!Yeah, turns out I did not actually find this book to be amazing. I noticed early on that there was an awful lot of internal monologuing going on (which I hate). Way too much introspection in the form of whining & pining to themselves about the situation--Them: wanna-be-together- [...]

Boy, did this book call out to me:Age gap + forbidden romance + military = hells yeah! And it delivered! What starts off as a one-night stand quickly turns into more. What I loved:-Sean and Paul. They were great individually and together. Even though they were in different stages of their lives, they still fit together perfectly.-The forbidden romance. There's some about a secret rendezvous that ticks my buttons. It's exciting and fun- it feels like when you have a crush on someone. -Relationship [...]

1,5 stars.DNF at 70% I considered to rate it, though I normally don't rate my DNF books. But I'd like to do it this time. I read 70% of it, I dare or? I'm even ready to give a one star bonus for my unread 30% assuming that exactly this story-line COULD turn this book into a masterpiece. Unfortunately I'll never know it. Because I am not going to read MORE and because the first 70% was very mediocre if not even worse- it was rather a stereotypical list of EVERYTHING I normally DISLIKE in my MM ro [...]

4.5 StarsDamn. Age gap? Yup. Hot monkey sex? Yup. Good, drive you batshit plot with a resolution that isn't drawn out to kingdom come? Yup. A bit angstier than I usually like but I was really invested in these two and wanted to see them work, dammit. I haven't liked much of LA Witt's work in awhile but if this is what I can expect from this series. I.Am.Sold. Ha!

3.5 stars - another sweet and sexy romance for LA Witt with a military setting, age-gap, 2 very sexy guys and a relationship-oriented story.Paul is a military man, through and through. After being a pilot, he’s aiming to become Admiral, in the expense of his personal relationships. That is, until one night, when he calls for a cab and meets Sean, twice less his age. A one night encounter that leads to another meeting and then another one, because the attraction is strong, really strong. Tbh, t [...]

Ooh, L.A. Witt does M/M romance in a military setting so well! This reminds me of Conduct Unbecoming (one of my favorite L.A. Witt novels) about two men's relationship in the shadow of the military's fraternization policy. Paul Richards is the CO of the Anchor Point NAS, with over 24 years under his belt, looking to achieve admiral before retiring. One night after breaking up with yet another boyfriend, he hails a cab and tells the driver "Just drive." Before the night is over, Paul and the driv [...]

*** 4.5 Stars ***Witt is a hit-or-miss author for me, but I’m happy to say that she hit it outta the park with this one. Just Drive had two very likeable characters, a delicious age gap, sheet melting sexy times, an “I love you” moment that literally made me cheer (and then sigh happily), and a conflict that successfully sidestepped manufactured melodrama and was resolved to my utter satisfaction. Also, the sweetness and romance of the epilogue left me grinning. What a fabulous start to a [...]

I seem to be getting over my age gap issuesd if I'm not well, I need to be since I keep reading books where the MCs have significant age gaps. It's been quite a while since I've read an L.A. Witt book and I've had this one on my TBR list since it was released so once again I can thank the joys of audiobooks for helping me take a bite out of that pile.Let's start with the audio portion of this review because that's going to be short and sweet. Nick J. Russo was the narrator and as usual he did no [...]

Santa's Secret Ninja Elf, thank you sooo much!! I'm dying to read this one!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I really liked this story! Great MCs with a big age-gap, great chemistry, believable development of their relationship, so much want and need, hot sex of course, outside forces that threaten to keep them apart, and most importantly a solution to their HEA that is not contrived by outside forces but accomplished through independent decisions and sacrifices made. Some small niggle [...]

I think this will be a very nice series. I like military men, who doesn't!! The writing was very smooth and it had me interested from the very start.Very likable characters and I loved the double POV!!! It makes the story so much interesting.PaulSean and Paul meet one day when Sean picks him up as a cabdriver and Paul just asks him to just drive.Immediately there is this attraction between these two men, even after they understand there is this big-age gap between them. Now THIS is classic Witt. Really well-written story with a punch to the gut of feelz. My eyelids were even sweating a bit. And the steam was verrrrry nice.It did still have the typical Witt phrases, such as "You better believe it" and "It is what it is" - both many times. Interestingly missing though? The. Sentences. That. Provide. Emphasis. With. Periods. After. Every. Word. First book of hers I've read without it. Do you think she's onto the drinking game?

2.5 starsLooking for a plot in this book, between all the sex scenes, make-out sessions, and the pondering of should we/shouldn't we is like looking for a needle in a haystack Nothing really happened really. It was rinse and repeat musing (and make out) between these two. What do they really had in common? How come Paul was willing to throw his stars, his career for Sean, when none of his previous lovers were able to? I just didn't believe that Sean was a special case, a special snowflake when I [...]

This starts with a breakup, followed by a one night stand between near strangers Sean and Paul. I love a good May/December romance.Just Drive works well as Paul and Sean initially begin seeing each other mainly for the truly terrific sex, but it slowly morphs into more as the two can't stop thinking about each other and continue to come together. The tension comes when the two realize, after they've already fallen for each other, that if their relationship is discovered it could literally mean t [...]

Woo boy, I could not put this book down! I love age gap books and this one was great. The sex was hot and I loved that they could not stay away from each other. The chemistry from the very beginning was off the charts. This was a true romance and I love how Paul showed Sean how special he was to him. The epilogue was lovely. I can't wait for the next book!

    • Hollis says:

JUST DRIVE is a good example of a concept that unfortunately fails to satisfy. I really liked the idea of the story from the synopsis -- older CO of a Navy base meets hot young thing who happens to be the son of one of his officers -- and all the potential angst and complications that would go along with it but it was just so damn repetitive. This story isn't very long but it feels twice the length because you're reading the same things over and over again. 'I'm too old, you're too young, motel [...]

Review originally posted at Sinfully. This is the first in a new series from L.A. Witt taking place in and around a naval base in Oregon and it’s a great start. A sexy and sweet romance between 42 year old career Navy Captain Paul Richards and early-twenties college student/cab driver and Navy brat Sean Wright. The last few books I’ve read by L.A. Witt were pretty angst filled so I was glad to have something less dramatic that still had me fully invested in figuring out how these men would ma [...]
